Great prompts don’t just ask questions. They command results
In 2025, prompting is more than a tech skill — it’s power language. Those who master it move faster, create smarter, and stay ahead of the curve.
AI isn’t magic — it’s language. And in this new era of digital work, knowing how to talk to AI is quickly becoming as essential as knowing how to use a keyboard.
Here’s the thing: the way you ask determines the quality of what you get. A vague prompt gives vague results. But a clear, intentional prompt? That’s when the magic happens — your ideas come alive, your workflow flows, and suddenly you’re 10x more strategic (without working 10x harder).
Whether you’re building a product, writing copy, designing a brand, or just trying to make your daily grind smoother — mastering prompts isn’t optional anymore. It’s your new digital power skill. ⚡
In this edition, we’ll break down what makes a prompt powerful, the essential ingredients you should never skip, and how to make AI work for you (not the other way around).
But what is one of the main reasons that separates a good design day from a great one?
Let’s Dive In
On the 7 Building Blocks of a Powerful Prompt
1. ROLE — Who should the AI act as?
This sets the lens through which the AI will think and respond.
◾“Act as a senior UX designer.”
◾“You’re a brand strategist with a feminine, confident tone.”
◾“You’re my personal assistant who writes clear and warm messages.”
🪄 Why it matters: When you give a role, the AI frames its knowledge and tone accordingly — making responses sharper and more aligned with your goal.
________
2. CONTEXT — What’s the situation?
Tell the AI what’s happening so it understands the bigger picture.
◾“I’m launching a personal brand newsletter for women in tech.”
◾“I’m redesigning a skincare eCommerce homepage for a minimalist brand.”
◾“I want to automate client onboarding with a warm welcome message.”
🪄 Why it matters: Without context, the AI will fill in the blanks with generic ideas.
________
3. OBJECTIVE — What outcome are you expecting?
Be specific with the task or result you want.
◾“Write 5 headline options.”
◾“Summarize this in 3 bullet points.”
◾“Create a UX improvement plan for mobile users.”
🪄 Why it matters: This keeps the AI focused and prevents rambling or irrelevant outputs.
________
4. TONE & STYLE — How should it sound?
This shapes the personality of the output. Examples:
◾Confident, feminine, bold
◾Playful, warm, friendly
◾Professional, clear, direct
◾Empathetic, empowering, conversational
✨ Pro Tip: If you have a personal brand, define 2–3 tone words that represent you — and use them consistently in prompts.
🪄 Why it matters: The same content can sound totally different depending on tone — and tone is what makes it yours.
________
5. FORMAT — How should the response be structured?
This gives shape to the output.
◾“Give me a bullet point list.”
◾“Write it as a carousel caption.”
◾“Use a table comparing pros and cons.”
◾“Create a step-by-step tutorial.”
🪄 Why it matters: Without a format, the AI may give you a wall of text. With a format, it gives you something usable instantly.
________
6. CONSTRAINTS — What it must follow or avoid.
🧹 Add rules or limits to keep it clean and on-brand.
◾“Max 10 words per headline.”
◾“Avoid sounding too salesy.”
◾“Use simple language, no jargon.”
◾“Include a CTA at the end.”
🪄 Why it matters: Constraints give your output polish and consistency — which saves you time editing later.
________
7. REFERENCE (Optional) — Show, don’t just tell.
You can give an example or model you love:
◾“Write it like a Vogue caption.”
◾“Match the tone of this paragraph: [insert example].”
◾“Follow the structure of this carousel.”
🪄 Why it matters: Examples anchor the AI’s creativity to your vision.

Prompt Structure Formula
Formula: “You’re a [ROLE]. I’m working on [CONTEXT]. Your task is to [OBJECTIVE]. Use a [TONE & STYLE] tone. Output in [FORMAT]. Keep it within [CONSTRAINTS]. Here’s an example/reference: [REFERENCE].”
✅ Example: “You’re a copywriter. I’m making a birthday card for my best friend. Write 3 short, sweet messages that feel warm and personal. Keep each under 12 words and list them in bullet points.”
AI Mindset Shift
AI isn’t here to replace your voice.
It’s here to amplify it.
The clearer your mind, the clearer the output.
The better your prompt, the bigger the impact.
✨ Prompting isn’t just a skill — it’s the new language of leverage.
When I started prompting, I used to talk to AI like it was a search bar.
Now, I talk to it like my creative team.
The result? My workflow got smoother, my content got sharper, and I stopped fighting the tool and started leading it.
It’s not about having “AI superpowers.”
It’s about knowing what to say, how to say it — and owning the room.
